We are Paul and Katie Williams and we’ve been married for twelve years. Throughout our marriage, God has consistently woven children into the center of our lives. For seven of those years, we served as house parents in a children’s group home, where we had the privilege of parenting and caring for over thirty children from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. During that season, our lives were full of laughter, learning, hard conversations, late-night check-ins, and deep connection. It was also during this time that we welcomed our biological son, Fox, who has grown up surrounded by many siblings-at-heart and a strong sense of family beyond biology. We know he will make a tender and loving big brother!
Adoption was first planted in our hearts as a small seed during those early years, though we didn’t know when or how it would grow. We later hoped to grow our family biologically again, but God made it abundantly clear that was not the path he had for us. While that realization came with grief, it was also met with peace in our hearts. With time, prayer, and many conversations, we both became fully confident that God was calling us to pursue adoption. Looking back, it’s clear that God has been preparing us for this journey–shaping our hearts, our skills, and our understanding of what it means to offer a child not just a home, but a lifelong commitment of safety, love, and belonging.
The cost of adoption can feel overwhelming, and at times even astronomical. Our total fundraising goal is $45,000, which will go toward home study costs, agency fees, legal expenses, and travel to the child’s home state. Even so, we trust that God will provide.
We’ve already seen God’s provision in a beautiful way by receiving a $10,000 matching grant from La Via de James and Lifesong for Orphans. This means that every donation is matched dollar for dollar up to that amount, allowing each gift to go twice as far in helping us welcome a child into our home!
