Thank you so much for taking time to read about us, sharing our story, and supporting our journey to baby Tolopka! We are Tyler and Cassidy- both originally from Texas, but very recently moved to southern California where we will be stationed the next three years. We are college sweethearts, and will celebrate our 7th anniversary in June! We both feel God placed the desire to be parents on both of our hearts for as long as we can remember. After a few heartbreaking years of infertility, we began to have the conversations about what we feel are our next steps to growing our family.
With time filled with prayer and reflection, Cassidy was comforted and at peace coming to the realization that it is far more important to be a mother than it is to experience becoming pregnant, growing a child, and giving birth to a baby. Additionally, adoption is a beautiful part of her family of origin as her late grandmother was adopted at birth, and Cassidy was ten years old when she was adopted by her stepdad who has always been “dad” to her.
Throughout this journey, we have begun to dream of what it would look like for us to become parents to a precious baby girl or boy. Most importantly we believe adoption is the ultimate picture of God’s restoration plan through a continued, personal relationship with him. We know his will for us includes being parents and even amidst five years of infertility we have chosen to forgo other contrived methods and pursue what we are confident is part of God’s calling and way “to work all things for good.” -Romans 8:28
Due to the many expenses in our adoption journey such as a recent requirement to complete a new homestudy after our recent military move, we are continuing to seek support to help fund our biggest adventure yet. We are grateful beyond words and overjoyed that we have been awarded a $6000 matching grant from Lifesong for Orphans! Please know your generosity will help us reach our goals to afford the big expenses such as our private adoption agency fees, birth-mother expenses once matched, travel costs, and later- legal fees assocated with placement.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again for taking time to read our story, for praying for us as we prepare to become parents, and for making the heartfelt decision to donate in helping us reach our adoption funding goals. There aren’t enough words to begin to express our gratitude.
Joyfully,
Tyler and Cassidy
