Hi, we are the Masudas, & we are adopting, again!
Adoption has been on our minds ever since our first son was born. Rachel developed a blood clot in her brain after giving birth. We almost lost her, and can’t take that risk again. We know God works in mysterious ways, and felt Him leading us to adoption.
On October 17, 2021 Mateo was born, a true gift from the Lord. God’s hand in our adoption journey was so abundantly clear, and we are leaning into our faith a 2nd time as we prepare to open our home to another child.
Our adoption will cost us $62,000. Yes, we know that’s a lot of money! We love God’s heart for adoption, and we are stepping into this in faith.
The #1 reason people don’t adopt is because of money, and we feel this deeply. We almost decided we couldn’t adopt again because of this, but God has been tugging on our hearts to step out in faith one more time, trusting He will provide what is needed.
We are excited to announce we have been awarded $8000 in matching grants from JFRH Adoption Fund and Lifesong for Orphans. Meaning every dollar donated up to $8000 will be doubled by the generous charities.
We want to be transparent about all of the costs of adopting, so here are some of the key places the money you donate will go:
Ongoing life-coaching for the birth mom,
Counseling & mental health therapy for the birth mom,
First Home study,
Agency fees,
Adoption attorney fees,
Adoption consultant fees,
Final home study,
Finalization court fees,
Travel expenses,
Medical expenses.
We recognize that giving financially is a sacrifice, and we are deeply humbled and grateful.
If giving financially isn’t possible, we value your prayers just as much.
Some things we’d love prayer for are that God’s hand and provision would be felt through the entire process, for the health of baby’s biological mother, both physically and mentally as she walks through an incredibly hard season, and that our family would transition well to the new addition.

Lifesong has been blessed with partners who underwrite all U.S. administrative and fundraising costs (TMG Foundation and other partners). That means 100% of your donation will go directly to the adoption.
- In following IRS guidelines, your donation is to Lifesong for Orphans. This organization retains full discretion over its use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggested use.
- Lifesong is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. Individual donations of $50 or more and yearly donations totaling $250 or more will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Receipts for donations under $50 will gladly be sent upon request.
