Post adoption care for our daughter. Please read our updates

Our family had the blessing to adopt three sisters. The 3 “littles’ as we lovingly call them were from a broken home with drugs, abuse, neglect and child endangerment. They had been in the foster care system a couple times including a third time with us. Our family welcomed them in 2014. They are not so “little” anymore”. However, the trauma and memories of the oldest of the three girls has caught up to her and are causing severe emotional and mental struggles.  Self-harm and even suicidal thoughts with a plan.  She has been in the ER half dozen times and 3 different longer-term stays at residential mental health facilities. But long before any real healing can occur health insurance kicks her out.  We have been able to get her accepted to House of Hope KC.  House of Hope (Kansas City) is a Christian-based nonprofit residential therapeutic home for teenage girls ages 12-17 who are struggling emotionally and behaviorally with adoption, trauma or other life disappointments.  Being a Christian based facility it is not covered by insurance.  The average stay is nine months and will cost upwards of $35,000.  We have been able to get an $8000 grant.  Lifesong has offered an additional grant of up to $8000 to match any donations up to that amount. Which will still leave a substantial debt to our family to pay.  We are asking for prayer and financial help to pay for this opportunity to help our daughter. Psalms 82; 3-4 “Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.”

Thank you for taking the time to read a small part of our story and consider supporting our family during this critical time.
