Piner Adoption Story

Lauren Piner Highland Village, Texas

We have longed to adopt since our first year of marriage, 15 years ago. Even since she was a teenager, Lauren has felt the pull towards adopting, and when we were newlyweds we heard the story of a family who adopted at our church, and both of us felt like that would be part of how we would grow our family. We started the process a few years later, but that was put on hold once we found out Lauren was pregnant with our daughter. We then had three more children over the next several years, as well as miscarriages.

After our youngest was born, Lauren suffered some complications, so the door to more biological children was closed. However, we felt strongly that our family was not done growing yet. We began talking and praying about adoption. One evening, we had a long talk together about it, and we agreed that it was time to start the journey. We know we are the type of family that  loves big and any child we have the honor of raising will be fully and conditionally loved and apart of the threadwork of our family.

The next day, an adoption agency we had talked to over the years reached out about a potential placement. That did not work out, but that was the confirmation we needed to start.

So, here we are! We're waiting for the Lord to spur a birth mom to select our family. We're open handed and active in working towards being active with multiple agencies while being patient and waiting on the Lord to move!
