Hey everyone, we are Nick and Ashley.
We have loved one another for 8 years and talked about adoption since we began our journey together. Not long after we married, we got pregnant with our daughter and we feel incredibly blessed to have her. Our hearts, however, remained burden for the orphans and we felt God was continuing to call us to adoption. At first we attempted to jump directly into it, but the doors seemed to be shut for us. We know that when God wills something, the way is clear and He makes a path. So, because we had no clear pathway, we settled into prayer for 2 long years. It was after 2 years of praying that God prompted us to start the process, and this time the doors flew open!
We have now been in the adoption process since December 2025. We considered just about every adoption route; international, foster, domestic. We landed on adopting a domestic infant really becuase that is where God opened doors. Our hearts were open to any direction He may have led us, and we are more than happy to welcome a sweet baby (or two!!) into our home.
Our agency is faith-based and truly has an incredible love for Jesus and his little children. They work heavily with moms who already have their children in the foster system and are finding themselves pregnant again. They require an open-adoption, which we agree with, to help support the emotional healing of the mother and child.
We will be honest and admit that the most uncomfortable part in this entire process is asking for financial assistance. We wish we had over $30,000 laying around, but the fact is that we don’t. The adoption process is a very vulnerable process for any family, and we are getting a taste of it. So, if you are able to give, please know that your giving directly impacts this child that God has so lovingly gone before to prepare for them a home. If all you can offer at this time is prayer, then you are giving us more than money ever could.
