Welcoming Home a Little Hess

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in the Beloved.

Ephesians 1:3-6

Our Story:

We (Paul and Felicity) met and fell in love in 2016, and we got married less than a year later! Both of us had it on our hearts to pursue adoption in any way, shape, or form that God wanted for our family. Our struggles with infertility made the timeline for adoption shorter and made us both more passionate to bring a little one into our home and closer to knowing the Gospel.

Throughout our journeys with God, we have grown, changed, and knit closer together. God has shown up in our pursuit of His will in our family through adoption, and we couldn’t be happier with where He has placed us.

Current Status:

We are currently ready and waiting. This means that we could be paired with an expecting mom next week or in the next few years. We are in the midst of waiting for God’s provision and providence for His will and His name to be glorified.

“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones; for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 18:10

Support:

There are several ways in which you can support our little family. First and foremost, we welcome any prayers that might be sent our way. We need God’s love and the support of our friends and family through this process, not just for us, but also for the sake of our future little one and their birth mama. We are so thankful for everything everyone has done to support us spiritually, and for those who have donated baby clothes, toys, car seats, etc. Any support has been a huge blessing to us! Second, we would be grateful for any financial support. Adoption can become very expensive very quickly. Our current need is around $20,000. This amount would cover additional agency, legal, attorney, travel, or other remaining fees. Thank you so much for your love and support for us in this time of seeking and pursuing God in relation to these little ones.

But this section would not be complete without huge shoutouts to our church and to the La Via de James Matching Grant! Our church surprised us with a HUGE DONATION of $8,600, almost half of our need amount! God is so faithful, and we are grateful to Him and to His people for their generosity. We are truly blessed to be part of a church with such kind, bountiful saints.

We are also grateful to the La Via de James Matching Grant for their generous $8,000 matching grant!

Thank you for reading, and may God richly bless you.

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
