HI, we are Laken and Joey! We are from a small town in Middle Tennessee. We recently celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary back in October. We both enjoy the outdoors, sports, and spending time with family. God has laid it upon our hearts to grow our family through adoption this past year, and we are so excited. We have one bio daughter, Charlotte who is currently 5 and she is so ready and excited to be a big sister. We love children, and can’t wait for our little family to grow through adoption. Laken has been a nurse going on 8 years now, and Joey has worked in industrial pumps sales the last few years. Laken loves reading, antiquing, and just spending time with her family. Joey loves working on things; such as vehicles, sports, golf, and just being outdoors. Charlotte also loves being outside, animals, and playing Barbies. We love including her in everything we do.
We live in the outskirts of a small rural town and own several acres of land surrounding our home right next to Laken’s parents. We built our forever home about 2 years ago, and have since longed to fill it with so much love and laughter with our little ones. We are looking forward to watching Charlotte grow up with a sibling to bond with and create lots of memories.
We love taking trips! we often visit the great smokies and the beach. We also love day trips to the zpp, aquarium, park, fishing at grandpa’s pond, riding around and seeing the cows on the farm, indoor playgrounds, bowling, or just hanging out with friends and family and letting the kids play. We love just being outdoors even if it’s just sitting in the breezeway. we are happy as long as we are all together. Holidays are special around here, and we love to make them extra magical all season long whether its going and seeing Christmas lights, painting pumpkins, going to the pumpkin patch, or doing fun seasonal crafts. Family is very important to us and we love that most all of our family live close by. Mimi and Poppy live right next door and we love being able to walk over, hangout, play games, and have dinner together. We also have many aunts, uncles, other grandparents and friends who we see very often. We have been awarded a 3k matching grant fund administered by lifelong and a 4K matching grant fund from Josiah's adoption fund. What does that mean? Any dollar raised they match up to that amount! How amazing!
