We are a family built by adoption. We have adopted all 8 of our kids through 3 adoptions, one from South Africa, one from Colombia and one through domestic foster care.
We are raising money to get one of our children the services they need. This child has struggled with mental health and attachment issues since before coming to our home, and we have tried every treatment there is to do. We are now at the point that intensive out-of-home therapy is needed, and the cost for that is high. We've maximized our private insurance benefits, but the truth is, insurance only covers to medical necessity, not to full healing and restoration.
In order to provide these services, we expect to spend another $50,000+. We've identified a facility we think could help, but a year's worth of treatment comes a cost. Therefore, we've applied and received a matching grant from Lifesong, who generously helped us with our adoption. In addition, our church has given us a direct grant to help us cover the costs. The first $6,000 raised will be matched. Gifts can be given through this site, or as check, DAF, IRA/QCD or stock.
