Our Story
Our story is and continues to be a journey of faith in the middle of difficult circumstances. We have been constantly reminded of God's faithfulness and hope that our story of perseverance and expectation can encourage you with whatever you are going through. Our journey down the road of infertility has been filled with sadness, grief, joy, excitement, and most of all hope.
We have quickly learned the truth of Psalm 34:18:
"The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit."
We were married in Issaquah, WA in October of 2015. After years of trying to start our family without success we decided to seek medical advice. Early in 2023 we received news from doctors that it would be highly unlikely that we would be able to get pregnant. Through many doctors visits, conversations with family, and prayer we felt like God was leading us to the road of adoption. So many of our friends and family have gone through this journey ahead of us and we believe it is no coincidence, but God was preparing our hearts long before we knew what was to come.
In April of 2024 we began to take steps of faith toward adoption even though we knew very little, felt financially unprepared, and had no idea what to expect on this journey. As we began to take these steps of faith we felt confidence and confirmation from The Lord each step of the way and it's amazing how far God has already carried us.
During this journey we have relied on the promise of Ephesians 3:20 which says:
"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." - Ephesians 3:20
Our Hope
We know that this miracle of adoption is more than just our story, it's a message about hope and faith. It's a message about God's faithfulness and provision. It's about how faith in Him matters more than material things and the plans of man. We believe that God will use others to be apart of our miracle and use our story to encourage others as they navigate the challenges of their life. We all face things that are beyond our power, strength, or ability to navigate or control. But God sees you, he loves you, and he has a plan for you.
Be Apart Of Our Miracle
We believe that God is writing a miracle into our story and that he will lead others to be apart of His provision. The main challenge surrounding our adoption is the financial cost, with the average domestic infant adoption in The United States being about $50,000. When we said yes to adoption we believe God said to take a step of faith now even though we didn't have this money sitting in a bank account. Our goal with this fundraising account is to cover most of our expenses for our adoption by raising $40,000 by December 2025. We are excited that we have been approved by Lifesong For Orphans for a $6,000 matching grant, which means every dollar given up to this amount will be doubled.
What these funds cover:
* Adoption Agency Fees ($35,000 - $50,000)
* Adoption Agency Application Fees ($950)
* Adoption Consultants ($5,500)
* Adoption Home Study ($1,700)
* Legal Fees ($3,000 - $8,000)
* Travel & Post Placement Costs ($3,000 - $4,000)
* Birth Mother Medical & Livign Expenses ($15,000 - $25,000)
There are several ways that you can support us in this journey of adoption:
1. Prayer. Your prayer makes a difference and we would appreciate your prayers for us, our future child, and our child's birth family. We would also appreciate prayer over the matching process and our fundraising.
2. Contribute to our adoption fund. If The Lord leads you to contribute financially you can do so here on our Lifesong For Orphans account. We appreciate every contribution no matter the amount.
3. Share our story. Sharing our story so others can be apart would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to hear our story and consider how God might lead you to be apart of this miracle.
