Creasman Crew Adoption

Jonathan Creasman
Jonathan Creasman Apex, North Carolina

Hello, friends and family!

We are Jonathan and Brittany Creasman, a loving couple from North Carolina, embarking on a heartfelt journey to grow our family through adoption. This is our story, a narrative of faith, love, and the unwavering belief that every child deserves a nurturing home.

Our Story Begins with Faith

Our lives have always been rooted in our faith. It's our compass, guiding us through life's twists and turns. We've found joy and purpose in serving others, particularly children, through either our church's kid's ministry or by dressing up as super heroes for the local children's hospital (which is actually how we first met). These experiences, we believe, were God's way of planting the seed of adoption in our hearts.

A Shared Dream Unfolds

Early in our relationship, we discovered our shared dream of adopting a child. For Brittany, this dream has been a lifelong calling. When we faced the challenge of Brittany's PCOS diagnosis, our dream of having biological children seemed to fade. Yet, in this trial, we found a deeper conviction. We now see our path towards adoption as a divine redirection, an opportunity to extend our love and provide a child with a safe and loving home. Our vision is to welcome a child, regardless of their background, into our warm and nurturing home.

Why We Need Your Help

Adoption is a beautiful but costly journey. We are looking to raise $50,000 to help cover the various expenses associated with the adoption process. Your contribution, no matter the size, is a significant step towards making our dream a reality. It's not just about helping us grow our family; it's about giving a child a chance for a loving, secure, and happy life. Every donation brings us closer to welcoming our first child into our home and hearts.

Matching Grants

We have great news that we’ve been gifted generous matching grants! The Summit Church has gifted us $2,500 and Lifesong has given us $3,000 in matching grants. This means the first $5,500 we raise through this fund will be doubled! All gifts are tax deductible and 100% of gifts are given toward our adoption.

With Gratitude and Hope

We are filled with gratitude and hope as we embark on this journey. We promise to share updates and milestones along the way, and we look forward to the day we can introduce our child to the loving community that helped bring them into our family.

Thank you for being a part of our story. Your support, prayers, and encouragement mean the world to us. Together, we can make a difference in a child's life.

With love and appreciation,

Jonathan and Brittany Creasman

Reaching the Endgame

December 6, 2024
Brittany and I were officially approved by our agency at the beginning of the year in January. At the time we only had a vague idea of how long we might have to wait until placed. Our agency only admits up to 16 families at a time in a “queue like” line with families who have waited longer being given priority. Mothers who are giving their child for adoption receive between three and six profiles of waiting families to choose from. Some families might also have certain restrictions (race, gender etc) of what they’re looking for too. Because of this, a waiting family most likely won’t be looked at until they reach the top half.

We are now in the 8th spot and found that out through a potential placement that happened Monday. This placement ended up not working out but it did make us aware to the fact that we’re now in a place where a placement could happen! We met with our agency today and they said there is a high likelihood we could be matched between January and June of next year. This is exciting news and we had previously thought placement might not happen until late Summer or even longer.

Besides financially, another big way you can support us is to be praying that we’ll be as best prepared as we can be when the time comes. We could have anywhere from six months to under 24 hours of notice when the placement happens. But we’re trusting in God’s perfect timing to bring along the baby. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us from the start, we’re excited to enter into this next phase with you!

Able to Bless Abundantly

August 20, 2024

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8

When Brittany and I started this journey in May of last year one of the biggest obstacles for us was how would we raise the needed 50k in order to fund the adoption? It seemed like such a daunting task and we almost wondered if it was even worth attempting. After all, we could only raise a fraction of this amount on our own in the short amount of time we had to raise the money.

However, we had felt God calling us to adoption and so we decided we’d let Him worry about the details. We were encouraged by many in our church who had gone through the adoption process that we would be surprised of all the ways God would provide what we would need to see it through. And provide He did! We officially started fundraising in January with the challenging goal to raise 60% of the needed funds by the end of the year.

Well, we’re not quite through the third quarter of 24′ and we just recently hit the 75% mark! God has indeed blessed and provided generously to us time and time again this year often through surprising and unexpected ways. And He’s done that primarily through you; our friends and family to whom we can never say thank you enough! We’re excited as we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel in this phase of adoption. Stay tuned as we will have some new opportunities you can partner with us in support.

May 2024 Update

May 24, 2024
Hello friends! We just wanted to write in and give an update on our adoption process and how God has been working to provide as well as what to expect over the coming months.

– Early in the beginning of the year our profile was completed and we were officially in the program. At this point it is a bit of a waiting game as families who have been in the program are given priority so we were told to start expecting possible matches in December. While it is a wait, this gives us time to continue to save which brings us to our next point!
– Thanks to the generosity of our friends and family we are now 40% funded for the needed $50k! This has been a huge blessing as it has been our goal to try and reach 60% by the end of the year.
– In late February we held a fundraiser through Chick-fil-A where a portion of their proceeds that evening went towards our adoption. We managed to raise $300!
– Through March and April we began collecting item donations for a yard sale we planned to have in May. The day of the yard sale we prayed that God might bless us with $500 but He had bigger plans and our yard sale brought in nearly $2,000!! That might have set a record for most profitable yard sale in NC.
– Currently we’re selling t-shirts with our adoption logo on them. If you’re interested in purchasing one you can do so through this form (https://tinyurl.com/creasmans) and yes we do ship!
– One of our dear friends has generously offered to donate the proceeds of their Etsy store through the month of June. You can check that out here; https://www.etsy.com/shop/ConnectionReflection?ref=l2-about-shopname

We have been continuously blown away by the outpouring of love and support from you all. Simply put, we could not save up the needed amount of funds on our own and we are indebted to you all. Thank you!

Adoption Q&A

February 4, 2024

Hello friends!

First off, Brittany and I want to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who have reached out to support, pray, and check in on us as we begin the process of raising the needed funds for our adoption. We could not do this without you!

Some of you have asked a lot of good questions about the adoption process and we want to do our best to answer them here!

Question #1 – What does the money we’re raising go to?
This is a great question! First off, none of the money we’re raising goes towards your typical baby items you might get at a baby shower. No crib, diapers, clothes, or other baby items are purchased with this money. It’s strictly for adoption-related costs only, which include agency, lawyer, government, and hospital fees needed to approve a domestic adoption in the States.

Question #2 – Are we only raising money from friends and family?
Not quite. While our friends and family play a vital part, Brittany and I are also working hard to save on our end as well as applying for adoption grants and seeking out fundraising opportunities with local businesses like Chick-fil-A and Orangetheory (more information on that in the coming months). Through a combination of all these efforts, we’re confident we can raise the needed amount to bring a newborn into a loving home.

Question #3 – Is adoption really that expensive?
Unfortunately, yes. The costs associated with a newborn domestic adoption in the US can range from 40k to 50k depending on a variety of factors. Most of that variability isn’t ironed out until near the end of the process but the majority of the money is paid out in three stages; during admittance into the agency’s program, upon being matched with a birth mother, and after the birth of the baby.

Question #4 – What’s next in the process?
Currently, we’re putting the finishing touches to our Family Profile Book. This book, along with other families’ books, is what is shown to a potential birth mother to help her decide which family she wishes to place her baby with. Think of it as a resume mixed with a scrapbook. This should be completed in the next week and at that point, we’ll be in the mix of families that could be picked. Because priority is given to families who have been waiting the longest, our agency has informed us to expect to wait about a year before we could get placed.

Question #5 – How can I help?
Besides helping out financially, we’re asking for you to keep us in your prayers as we continue to navigate and jump through all the hoops needed for a successful adoption. For those of you who are local, though, you can also help us as we partner with various businesses over the year to fundraise. The first of these opportunities is February 13th at Chick-fil-A in Stonecreek Village (see our Facebook/Instagram posts for more info)!
