We really believe the Great Commission isn’t just something we say, it’s something we strive to live out!
When Jesus calls us in Matthew 28 “to go and make disciples of all nations”, yes, that can mean going across the world. But we also believe it can look like welcoming the nations right into our home.
Over the years we’ve been together, the Lord has continued to open our eyes to the need for adoption and to what our role in it could be as a family, knowing this is something we’re all called to, but also wondering how He might specifically lead us to step into it. After the difficult and risky birth of our second son, we began to more intentionally look into adoption and pray through what that could look like for our family, trusting the Lord to guide our steps. Even through this season of grief for our sweet girl, we’ve felt His kindness and nearness, gently bringing this back to the forefront of our hearts!
The Lord kept bringing me back to Romans 8 and the truth that we’ve been adopted into the family of God. Because we’ve been welcomed in, we now get the honor of welcoming another child into our family, too. And that just feels really special to say out loud!
We know this journey won’t be easy, but we’re stepping forward with open hands and expectant hearts, trusting the Lord to lead every step!
