Hi, we are the Batesons, an easygoing family who love the simple things. You might not see us traveling the world or hiking a mountain, but we love to have fun together and are always laughing. We enjoy cooking at home, going to our neighborhood farmers market, clubhouse pool, and on evening walks to the local playground or dog park. When we’re feeling adventurous, you’ll probably find us off-roading in Brandon’s truck and trying fun restaurants for brunch, Pho, pizza, or authentic tacos! We love Jesus, plain and simple – faith is a huge part of our lives.
God gave us a heart for foster care and adoption before we were married, and the journey has been amazing. We are blessed to have gone through the adoption process in 2022 in Florida, after meeting our son’s birth mom through social media. Not a single day goes by that we are not grateful for Mama K for choosing us to be his parents, and we maintain an open adoption relationship with her and other biological family members. Our lives are full of daily joy and adventure watching our rambunctious toddler grow and experience the world.
After adopting our son, we felt strongly to keep the door open for another adoption. We didn’t join an agency or anything, just kept our home study current and waited on The Lord. Many situations have come our way over the last two years, some even made official adoption plans with our family. While getting to know these incredible women battling with making decisions for their unplanned pregnancies, we were able to be a friend and voice of encouragement, pointing them to resources and partnering in prayer. We are so honored to have been part of their stories in choosing to parent. We still keep in touch with most of these mamas and their sweet babies.
Through the rollercoaster of emotions, disrupted/failed adoptions, and some significant financial losses, we continue to trust God that His plan is bigger than ours. As we move forward in our adoption journey, we are so grateful for our family, friends, and faith community. It is not easy to ask for money, but many people have asked how they can support our adoption. We have been blessed with an opportunity to host this fundraising campaign which includes a matching grant of $5000 from Lifesong for Orphans and We Care for Orphans – meaning your generous gift can be doubled!
