We are Neil (dad), Ashley (mom), Austin (9), and Miles (2), and we love that God made us a family in 2014 when Neil and Ashley were married. Back then we could have never predicted all that God had in store for us, and we’re thankful for it all.
We individually were interested in adoption after serving on mission trips and seeing and experiencing the need for adoption in different orphanages around the world. When we got married and wanted to grow a family, that individual interest became a conversation, then a shared mutual interest as we began to explore. The more we explored, the more that interest turned into a passion.
We saw a family as a group of people God puts together that don’t need shared DNA. As believers, adoption isn’t a foreign or distant concept, since we are all adopted into God’s family, seen as sons and daughters. To grow our family the same way is a gift. It’s also a roller coaster with plenty of unknowns, and it will be our greatest honor and privilege to sit with our kiddos to help them, love them, listen to them, grieve with them, celebrate with them, and remind them of truths in the midst of any unanswered questions they have as they process their story and shape an understanding of who they are. We will forever honor how they came into this world, and we will rest in the fact that our ultimate identity is being children of the infinitely good Father we have in Heaven, who holds us in His hands, never leaves us, and has already gone before us.
We are honored to have been awarded a $5,000 matching grant fund administered by Cheerful Giving Adoption fund in San Marcos, CA and a $2,500 matching grant fund administered by Lifesong for Orphans.
