"If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I"
These words from the song "So Will I" by Hillsong Worship are sung to my children almost every night. They hold so much meaning, and now that we are bringing home another precious baby soon, it means that much more to us! That Jesus gave his life to love, and we want to do the same.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Why adoption? Adoption was laid heavily on my heart since before I met Seth. It was always something that I thought would happen, and when Seth and I started dating and it came up, he said "Me too!" when I shared my heart with him. We got married, started our family and always had adoption on our mind. After three beautiful boys, now is the time! We are so excited (and a little scared!) to be on this journey. We are also incredibly honored that you want to share in our story with us. After 13 years, it's time to say "yes!"
Simply put, we want to replicate the Gospel - to seek out and choose to love a precious child; to be their family. This is what God did for us. We only know love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). We want our lives to mirror that and testify to what He has done for us. God is good, y'all.
We would be lying if we said we were not a little intimidated in asking our family and friends to come alongside us financially in order to bring this baby home. The simple truth is that we cannot do this on our own - we need our village! Rest assured though, we are saving independently, having yard sales (we made $4,000 from generous donations from friends!) making t-shirts (we sold 51 and our goal was 50!), and selling our "unneeded" stuff too. We cannot express how blessed we are to call you "friend" and when you think about us, say a little prayer that we would be faithful servants of God during this process. We are SO close to our goal to full fund an adoption, that to say that just brings me to tears! Just two months ago, I had little faith. "God, how will we fund an adoption?" I would ask. And I would keep getting reminded "Be faithful. Be faithful." And we are $7,000 short.
To make it even sweeter, a local church has partnered with Lifesong for Orphans to give us a matching grant of $3,000!!! That means, every penny you give will be doubled, up to that amount! Wow. Here I am, being blown away by God's goodness, once again.
Here's the deal. We are asking you to pray. Pray for the precious mother/father who will be making one of the hardest decisions of their life. Pray they feel peace, comforted, loved. Pray for us, that we would love them well. And pray that this last bit of money would come so that we can have no barriers to us yelling "YES!!!!" from the rooftops.
We are so honored you took the time to read a little about us. You can find me on instagram and get more updates there (mrskaitjones).
Thank you-so much! We are just so so grateful.
