The White Family Adoption

Ramsey White Birmingham, Alabama

Thank you so much for considering donating to our adoption!

We have felt so much support from our church, family and friends as we have navigated the adoption process. We are thankful for you!

Our Family’s Call to Adopt

Our family’s call to adopt took place slowly, and over many years. Throughout high school and college, Kendall was able to go on several mission trips that opened her eyes to the orphan crisis around the world and gave her the opportunity to directly know and minister to children in need. From that time on, she believed that adoption would be a part of her future. Kendall and Ramsey met at Samford University and were married in 2013. Many years and 2 biological children later, the Lord gave Ramsey the desire to grow our family through the adoption of a little girl. Kendall certainly didn’t need any convincing, so we got started right away! We were very familiar with the India Program at Lifeline Children’s Services, and we officially began our adoption process in January of 2018.

Our Daughter

On August 9th, we got the call we had been waiting a year and a half for! Our social worker told us about a 7 month old little girl in India in need of a forever home. And now, we have officially committed to make her a part of our family. We are so blessed to have pictures and videos of her, and our whole family already loves her so much.

The Lord has continued to confirm our family’s call to adopt in so many ways over the past year and a half, the most special ways being through our children, Judah (4 years) and Abigail (3 years). They both talk about their baby sister in India every day, draw pictures and make presents for her, and even tell Ramsey to go to work so he can “make money to bring home my baby sister!”

Our Present Need

We are aiming to raise $26,000 to cover our remaining adoption costs. These costs go towards so many different pieces of the adoption process: Adoption agency fees, U.S. Court Adoption fee, travel expenses, medical expenses, Visa fees, etc.

We are often asked “Why does adoption cost so much?” We admit the cost has felt overwhelming at times, and our family has financially sacrificed so much to make it this far. We remember a favorite quote from Katie Davis, author of Kisses from Katie:

“I have learned that I will not change the world, Jesus will do that. I can, however, change the world for one person…And if one person sees the love of Christ in me, it is worth every minute. In fact, it is worth spending my life for.”

Right now, our little girl on the other side of the world is our “one.” We humbly ask that you might consider donating to our adoption to help us get her home!

*We recently have received an adoption grant through Lifesong For Orphans! Their organization is going to match any funds we raise up to $3500. The grant also allows any donation (even if we are passed the $3500 mark) to be tax deductible for the contributor. You can read about the details below!

STRIPE charges an online processing fee (2.2% +.30 USD per transaction). Your donations will be decreased by this amount. You may also send a check payable to “Lifesong for Orphans”.
