Hi! We are Alec and Hannah. Adoption has always been a part of our plan, and we are excited to become first-time parents. We decision to adopt first because we want that child to be an older sibling one day. We want him/her to feel as if they have been a part of our family from the beginning, not something we added on to complete our family. In our adoption process we have decided to be open to any gender or ethnicity. Hannah has always been interested in the idea of adoption, and when we got married we starting thinking about what our adoption journey would look like. Together we decided that domestic adoption was the way to go.
We met while attending the same college. We knew of each other but it wasn’t until we studied abroad that we got to know each other. Together we traveled to Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, and China. It was there that we became friends! We got to see different cultures; beautiful landscapes, and interact with individuals who were different than ourselves. We started dating in 2016, and the rest is history! We got engaged on October 1, 2017 and married on November 10, 2018.
We are the best of friends, and we cannot wait to embark on the adventure of parenting together! As a family, celebrate our differences and the diversity with each person. We are a great team, and value strong communication. Together, there isn’t anything we cannot overcome.
We have already been able to see God's hand at work within our process. We have been awarded a $4500 matching grant from our church, Waypoint Community Church, which is administered by Lifesong for Orphans. It gives us peace knowing that we are not alone in this journey! We know that our child is already so loved by all the people around us!
