Help us welcome Ivy & Willa into our family by supporting their adoption costs.
We, Jon and Annette Miller, started the adoption process last October. At the end of March we got the call that we have been matched! A mother terminally ill with cancer has chosen us to adopt her twin 18 month old babies. Our hearts were simultaneously broken for the mother and filled with excitement as we picked up our new daughters 24 hours later.
Wanting to have more children and not being able to has been painful and confusing for us.
But now we see.
God kept our arms open and ready to receive these two precious babes. While our hearts are overwhelmed with joy, we are also going through the chaotic time of adjustment.
Our journey to adoption began shortly after our wedding in 2009. Annette was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and we were told that we would most like never be able to have biological children. We mourned this loss and it was then that God first laid adoption on our hearts.
For some unknown reason God chose to give us three beautiful miracles. These three pregnancies were extremely difficult, high-risk, scary times due to multiple medical complications. After the third cesarean, we were strongly advised by our doctor that it would be too dangerous to become pregnant again.
While we feel so blessed with the gift of three children, our hearts for adoption have not diminished. We are unbelievably excited to adopt Ivy and Willa into a family where they will not only have two caring parents but also have three doting older siblings.
Fundraising is a very humbling place to be. When we first felt called to adopt it felt overwhelming. We knew that we did not have the funds to do this on our own. We felt God calling us to step out in faith.
It takes a village to raise a child and it is going to take a village to bring our girls home. So if God lays it on your heart, we are so thankful to you for stepping out and partnering with us in giving these girls a family. Thank you so much to all of you that have already supported us so powerfully with prayer. We covet your prayers in the upcoming months as we continue to adjust to a new, crazy, wonderful normal.
We are so excited to share that we have been chosen by Gregory’s Gift Adoption Fund to recieve a matching grant of $2,500 administered by Lifesongs for Orphans. So the first $2,500 we raise will be doubled!
