Hi! We’re Patrick and Ashley! We will have been married 7 years this coming June, started our relationship as high school sweethearts, and are grateful for each day we’ve shared together. In these 7 years having children has not been God’s plan. We have, through prayer, felt called to adoption and have been pursuing this long process since October 2017. We are confident that this is where God wants us to be. We cannot wait to be parents, and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to adopt a child and give him or her a loving home; and in return be filled with the joy and laughter that this child will bring us.
Faith. It’s been the core of our adoption. Abraham is a wonderful example of this in Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was going.” We too feel like many days we have no idea where we are going, wandering aimlessly through life, trusting and having faith in God’s plan for us. There were days we almost quit. Times we felt this calling was too heavy a burden. And in our moments of weakness we were reminded…faith.
Faith was what we needed and held onto when we had mountains of paperwork to be finished, received each payment bill from our adoption agency, experienced multiple unsuccessful adoptions, waited years longer than what we had hoped for to start a family. But this is what has refined us and molded us into the “someday” parents that God needed us to be and to the faithful servants that He needs to glorify Him and His kingdom. We’ve formed so many unexpected friendships with other hopeful adoptive parents and expectant/birth others during our journey and hope that in some way we have been an encouragement to them.
We have been blessed by an opportunity to receive a $2500 matching grant from Lifesong to help fund our adoption! We are blown away by this opportunity and beyond grateful for each dollar that brings us closer to bringing home baby Walseman!
We appreciate every single person who helps or guides us along the way! Thank you for taking a look, and please help us out by sharing this page!
