My husband Martin and I have been married for 10 years. Eight years ago, we began our journey to have children. Due to having infertility issues, we tried different options and nothing worked. We felt disappointed, discouraged, and gave up hope. We resigned to thinking that this was not part of God’s will for us.
Three years ago, my brother and his wife had a little boy. We fell in love with him and our desire to have our own children was reignited. We have friends who adopted internationally and decided to pursue that path having tried everything else. We were thrilled that we qualified to adopt from China.
Since that process began, we were not matched for about a year and a half. Once again, we felt our final door was closing and accepted that having children was not meant for us.
This July, we received a call that will forever change our lives. We were matched with a beautiful three year old boy. In just a couple of weeks, we will be flying to China to bring Kaleb home! We are excited and scared all at the same time:)
We want to adopt because we have a lot of love to give. We want to provide Kaleb with a loving and nurturing home. We also want to support and provide him with resources and opportunities he will not experience if he remains in an orphanage.
We have been awarded a $2500 matching grant from Cornerstone Church of West LA Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. Our goal date is November 15th, which is when our adoption will be complete. This grant will allow us to fully fund our adoption. It will also help offset and adjust to our growing living expenses, especially during my three month leave of absence from work. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated!
