It is difficult to explain, but the Lord had always placed in our hearts a desire to adopt children internationally. Whether it is rooted in our desire to care for the orphan, or to fulfill the Great Commission in making disciples of all nations (as we truly see these children as potential, future disciples), or simply because we have always wanted an ethnically diverse family, we believe the Lord has called us to this glorious endeavor. And we can truly only attribute such a desire to the work of the Spirit in our lives; the same Spirit that has called us to be adopted as sons and daughters of our heavenly Father.
There have been quite a few twists and turns over the last couple of years, but we are excited to share with you that we have been approved to adopt 3 children from the country of Kyrgyzstan, and as of June 2020 have accepted our referral and are officially matched! The ages of the children are 6 yr., 3 yr., and 1 yr. The 3 are biological siblings. The older brothers’ names are Vasili and Vitali, and their younger sister is Eliza.
In October of 2020 the Lord graciously guided us on our first trip to bond with our children for 2 weeks. It was an experience unlike any we have ever experienced. And now, in March of 2021, about 5 months later, we are excited to travel once more to attend our court hearing in order to complete the legal procedures of our process!
We are incredibly humbled and likewise excited to be taking such huge strides in this process. If you would like to have a more detailed look about where we have been, and where we currently are, please visit this link: .
The Lord has continued to prove His faithfulness to us throughout this process as we have seen so many of you support us in ways we could never have thought. We are truly grateful and want to continue to keep you involved in this process.
As you consider supporting this endeavor, we are excited to share that we have been awarded a $6000 matching grant from Gregory’s Gift Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. What that means is whatever we raise up to $6,000, will be doubled by the provider of Gregory’s Gift! Of course, whatever support comes in beyond that will likewise go toward our process, and we will continue to use this page as a fundraising platform. We are so humbled and grateful to be able to partner with Lifesong for Orphans throughout this journey, and likewsie count it a joy to be able to partner with each of you.
