We are Stephen and Elizabeth. We got married in 2013. After a few years of struggling with fertility complications, we got pregnant and had Sam in 2016. However, we have encountered "secondary infertility," and our hopes for Sam to have more siblings were put on pause.
We connected with New Life Adoptions in May of 2019. New Life envisions a world where every unborn child is given the opportunity of life, where shame and fear do not play a part in the decisions an expectant mother makes for her child, and a culture where the stigmas of adoption are erased and the choice of adoption is better understood. We are so grateful for the vision and commitment of New Life Adoptions. Since completing our home study in August of 2019, we have been waiting to be matched with a baby that needs a home.
All three of us are excited about growing our family, and we often pray with and talk with Sam about life with a new brother or sister. When we explained to Sam what adoption is and that we were pursuing it, he said, "Dad, that's a good thing. Let's do it!"
We are grateful for the support we have received so far, but we are still hoping to raise more money to help pay for the adoption fees. The total amount we have left to raise is $18,000.
Through a partnership with Lifesong for Orphans, we have received a $3,000 matching grant from Fort Bend Community Church.
