In 2016, God heard our prayers and brought us our son Samuel. In 2021, he brought us more joy and added our son Joseph to our family. At the beginning of 2023, as we were talking and praying about growing our family, we got an email from New Life Adoptions.
Their wonderful ministry to vulnerable women had seen them welcoming and empowering more women than ever before, and—in order to offer these moms options for choosing life—they needed more adoptive families. We were excited for the opportunity to join New Life a second time by opening our home to another child in need of love. It has been wonderful seeing Sam be an older brother to Joey, and we can’t wait to add a third little one to the mix!
New Life has had an extremely busy year and have told us to expect a shorter interval than normal between our application and getting matched with a child. While there are no guarantees about timing, we are getting our home and our family ready for a new addition. As we pray with our boys about the baby that will join our home—Lord willing—we are filled with curious excitement about how God is working to grow and shape our little family.
There are many expenses in the adoption process that cover everything from legal and social worker fees to helping provide much needed resources for vulnerable moms, like counseling and prenatal care.
The cost remaining for our adoption plan is $21,500. However, we have received two matching grants of $4,000 each from the nonprofit Lifesong for Orphans and from the dear church family Fort Bend Community Church, who supported our adoption in 2021 as well.
This means that every dollar given (up to $8,000) will be matched. Would you consider joining us on this journey?
