Hi everyone! My name is Hannah Godfrey and I am a sophomore Religion major at Samford University. This summer I have the amazing opportunity to intern in Zambia for two months with Lifesong for Orphans where I will be living and serving in Garneton, Zambia and working in the Lifesong for Orphans School that is located there. The school serves about 375 orphaned and vulnerable children from preschool age and all the way up to 12th grade. While I am serving this summer I will spend a lot of my time working in the classrooms and the library at the school, helping with reading and math groups for the primary school students, and helping to tutor children in the secondary school. I will also spend time discipling and building relationships with the girls who are in the secondary school and living in boarding. Another thing I will help with is the teams that will be coming through this summer for mission trips.
As you can see I am going to be very busy this summer but I am so excited to be busy with this kind of work! I believe that the Lord has created me specifically to help the poor and oppressed. This kind of work is what my heart beats for, and I can’t wait to spend my summer in a new country while serving the Lord and loving on those who need it most. This trip is going to help me to get to where I believe that the Lord is calling me in the future and will help me to understand more about the call the Lord has placed on my life.
I am so happy to share this opportunity with you all and want you to be a part of what the Lord is doing in Zambia so I am asking for your support! One way that you can support me is through prayer and so I ask you to pray for me as I prepare to go to Zambia and also while I am there for the months of June and July. Another way you can support me is through financial support and so I ask that you be praying about helping me with this aspect. Your donations will help to fund every aspect of my trip; my plane ticket, groceries, rent for where I will be living, electricity, supplies, and other needs that come along with living in Zambia for two months.
Family and friends, I am so thankful for all of your support in the past and am so excited to share my newest journey with you all. Your love and support means the world to me, so I thank you in advance for your prayers and donations.
Thank you all! God bless!
