Love Makes A Family (Lonow Adoption)

Stephanie Lonow Asheville, North Carolina

We are Stephanie and Ralph Lonow and we are from Asheville, North Carolina.  I work as a PA Hospitalist and Ralph owns a local restaurant.  We have been married for 5 years and have one biological daughter Maddie Grace who is almost 4 years old.  We are matched for adoption with a beautiful and amazing expectant mom from Sarasota, Florida.  The baby is due in September and we could not be more excited to grow our family through adoption.

When Ralph and I were married we were prepared for and expecting fertility issues when we were blessed with our biological daughter, Maddie Grace. We started trying for a second child when Maddie was around 8 months old.  It soon became apparent that it would not be so easy the second time around.

We completed over 2 years of fertility treatments and have had 6 pregnancy losses.  In a way that we cannot quite explain, we truly knew after the first miscarriage that God was calling us to adopt. Now that we are on our adoption journey we couldn’t be more excited for the next chapters to unfold.  We are excited to welcome another child into our home and Maddie is beyond excited about having a brother or sister. We feel like Maddie was a miracle and a gift from God and we know our next baby will be a miracle and gift from God as well. Our family will be complete in the most beautiful and unique way by the beautiful paintbrush of God.

As many of you know, adoption can be quite the financial undertaking. Despite the financial ups and downs that we have faced during the COVID pandemic we have never lost sight of our goal for adoption as we know this is truly the plan for our lives. Our adoption will cost $43,500 + travel costs.

We have been awarded a matching grant from Josiah’s Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. Financial contributions will be matched by this amazing organization and immediately put to use for the cost of the adoption. If you so feel led, any financial support is truly appreciated and will help us complete our family through adoption. Also prayers for us and for our expectant mom and her children who have become an extension of our family are appreciated as well.

With Love,

The Lonows
