We are the Simmermans and are eager to welcome a little boy or girl from Western Africa into our family. We’ve been blessed with two kiddos already and as we thought about having a third child we just couldn’t get past the fact that there are lots of kids out there that need a family. That need a mom and dad and a brother and sister and grandparents and people in their lives to love them and call them their own. God confirmed this call to adopt in so many really specific ways. It has been so awesome to see Him work and we can’t wait to see how He continues to show up in this adoption process. In the midst of trying to decide which way we would adopt (international, domestic, foster care) God put such a burden on our hearts for the orphan living in an orphanage overseas and led us so clearly to the specific country we are adopting from (which we can’t share on the internet). As we started this process in February 2019 we knew that adoption was an awesome picture of the gospel but as this journey has continued we have become more and more in awe of the Lord’s adoption of us into His own family. It’s out of this gratitude and love for Him that we are moving forward in adoption.

1) Prayer. We have not been matched with our son or daughter yet. Please pray that God would sovereignly and quickly move this process along. Pray that our kiddo would be loved and cared for in their orphanage. Pray that God would be glorified! 2) Financial Support. The estimated cost of this adoption is $40,000-45,000. It feels like such a huge number but we’ve seen the Lord provide already and are trusting that He will continue to do so.
