Sandusky Adoption

Emily Sandusky Clarksdale, Mississippi

We are Seth and Emily. We are the parents of three small boys, Nathan, Cohen and Heston and the Pastor and Pastor’s wife at a growing, Christ-loving church in Mississippi. We love life as a family and spending quality time together in the outdoors (traveling, playing league sports, camping, fishing, and boating) and living with purpose and intentionality.

God laid adoption on our hearts in a heavy way in early 2019 and we immediately began the process in faith. We live in a poverty stricken community where we are able to minister and love in sincere and deep ways on a weekly basis. We see so much emotional hurt and physical need. There is such a great need to know love and to be loved – something we know that only Jesus can truly give. The needs and longings that we see here in our now hometown have pushed us to be the literal hands and feet of Jesus by way of adoption.

Since jumping into this journey, the Lord has blessed each and every avenue and mountain that we have come to. Every dollar that we have needed has been available to us on the exact day that we needed it. It has been an extensive journey thus far, and we still have so far to go. But we know that God has a perfect path already waiting on our family. He has led so many to help us in these needs and we just could not be more in awe of the ways He is choosing to use us.

We have paid for everything required to adopt domestically aside from the expenses that will be bringing our child home. We have been able to pay for a Home Study including all of the testing and checks and paperwork that come along with that. We have had the ability to afford a close and helpful relationship with a very talented adoption consulting group that has been so helpful to us. Additionally, we have been able to have a professionally made profile book pieced together for a potential mother to see during her time of choosing a family. So much has gone into this process already.

What remains are the hefty agency fees that support the well-being of the expecting mother that we connect with and her maternal needs. We lack paying the legal fees that will be required to finalize the adoption and our travel expenses, as we anticipate a 2-3 week stay in our child’s birth state and possible airfare.

All of these things seem overwhelming in moments of fear, and we defiantly have those. But when we think on and remember all that God has brought us through and all that is ahead, the trying moments are so worth all they have cost us. We just can’t even begin to imagine the precious life that we are going to meet so soon and how she will change our lives in such a special way.
