We met back in April 2008, when we both volunteered for several years at Bald Eagle Boys Camp. This is a residential program for boys working through emotional difficulties. We had the opportunity to interact with boys from many different homes and backgrounds, some of which were from adoptive homes.
Looking back, we realize that God was already preparing us for His story for our family. We were married in July 2016. Soon after we got married, we hoped to bring children into our family. We both love children and have been blessed with nieces and nephews. The interaction with them has increased our desire to raise a future generation.
After a year of hoping for pregnancy we started fertility testing and discovered that biological children are not likely to happen for us without a lot of fertility treatment. Through many tears and prayers, we felt that instead of spending a lot of time and money on fertility treatments, God was calling us to open our home to children through adoption.
Stepping out in faith, we began the required work for the home study, realizing that God would need to continue opening doors and providing for us to make this possible. We also hope to adopt more children in the future and this will only be possible if God provides finances, not only for this child but for the other children He plans to bring to our family. We are grateful for the ways He is providing and we continue to see Him working in our behalf. Gregory’s Gift has partnered with Lifesong and committed an Adoption Matching Grant of $3,000 to help pay our adoption expenses.
As soon as we’re matched we will need to pay approximately $10,000. No, that’s not the entire cost; the rest of it will be needed when our child is born. We’ve got a little work to do on our part in raising the $3,000 they will match. Will you consider giving a tax-deductible donation to help us meet this matching grant and provide the funds needed to bring our baby home?
What’s happening with adoption right now? We have been presenting our profile whenever we have an opportunity and we wait! I’m grateful for my Father who’s in control of it all. While sometimes waiting is hard, He has given us peace in our waiting. We know He’s got the timing in His hands and He’ll bring our baby home to us at the right time. Keep praying with us as we continue to present to birth moms and wait to bring our baby home.
Thank you for reading our story, we are looking forward to seeing what He has planned for our family.
