Brian and I met in 2008 in a dance class. He was a very graceful leader. I had lots of energy and he literally swept me off my feet ☺.
We married in 2009 and In 2012 we moved down to Fresno and decided that after several years of marriage it was time to start a family. Due to years of heartbreaking negative results we decided to stop further medical treatment.
Brian and I had deep conversation walks as we had struggled with infertility and finding a way to build our family. We would talk about our serious desire to parent and pour our love into the life of another. Soon we realized the desire was for a child & not necessarily for us to provide one ourselves. Because we still want to grow as a family, we began to love and grow a heart of adoption.
We plan to finance this adoption through our savings as well as through crowdfunding and applying for aid from organizations. Our anticipated costs for this adoption range from 35,200 -59,000.
Adoption Agency Application & Program Fees = $8,000-$20,000
Attorney Fees = $4,200 – $15,000
Agency/Birth Family Counseling = $500-$1,000
Birth Mother Expenses(medical/living/services) = $7,000-$22,000
Travel Expenses = $1,000 – $3,000
Post-Placement Expenses = $500-$2,000
Miscellaneous Expenses = $1,000 – $3,000
Because we are still facing a lot of debt in terms of a mortgage and educational loans we are looking for help to stay within our financial goals. We had decided we would not go into debt to pay for fertility treatments and we also do not want to go into debt to build our family though adoption. This is really important to us to be able to begin providing the best for our child and hopefully their children in the future.
The GOOD NEWS is that we have been awarded a matching grant of $6,000 from Lifesong for Orphans. So any gifts made up to that that amount will be doubled!
