Our Adoption

Jonathan and Holly

We are Jonathan and Holly. We have been married for 19 years. In 2009, we had our first daughter. We always knew we wanted to have more than one child in our family. After experiencing a miscarriage when our oldest was four-years-old and then six years of secondary infertility, God put adoption simultaneously on both of our hearts in mid-2017. We started a home study with a private social worker late 2017, as at the time, we just knew we wanted to be available in saying “yes” to God. We finished our home study in early 2018. The same day we got the email that our Home Study was finished, we found out we were pregnant. In late 2018, our second daughter was born. A couple of years later, we both felt God tugging on our hearts and knew it was time to pursue adoption again. We started pursuing adoption this time through Lifeline in the Spring of 2022.

God has done abundant work in our lives and we are so grateful for the years we have spent praying and growing in faith in Him during these years. We pray our lives and our children’s lives will be for His glory.

GOD PLACED THESE VERSES ON OUR HEARTS DURING THE FIRST HOME STUDY.
We waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. (Psalm 40:1-3)

…AND THE SECOND HOME STUDY:
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith —that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. (Ephesians 3:14-21)
