Our Adoption Story

Hello Everyone, We have been matched with an expectant mother due March 19th! We originally hoped to self match to save on the adoption costs, however we felt God telling us to step out in faith and say yes to a situation through an outside attorney and agency. The expectant mother lives out of state so we will incur two attorney fees as well as traveling expenses. We have already paid 75% of the cost ourselves and are hoping to fundraise the remaining amount we owe. We excitedly have been awarded a $2500 matching grant from Orphans All Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans which means they will match dollar for dollar what we raise up to $2,500. Doubling your donation. Wow!! If you do not know our full adoption story please read below:

Don and I discussed so many things while we were dating—adoption being one of them. It was so important for us to be on the same page before getting married. I never quite knew what career I was meant to pursue, but one thing I knew for certain is that I wanted to be a mom. I didn’t care about anything else but starting a family with my husband.

After conceiving our first child, I unfortunately miscarried within the first trimester. I was then diagnosed with PCOS. We knew there were many obstacles in our way because of this diagnosis, but we were still hopeful. After years of unsuccessfully trying to conceive again, we now know that God has another plan for us.

Just around my 30th birthday, I was having a pity party for myself because I felt as though my lifetime dream of being a mother had failed. It was then that God so clearly spoke to me and said, “Your order is not my order.” Don and I talked and felt at peace with pursuing adoption instead of fertility treatments. Because of the calling that God so evidently spoke to us individually and as a couple, we are ecstatic to see what He has in store for our family.
