Our Adoption Journey

Rose and Joseph Ojeda
Rose and Joseph Ojeda Lake Mary, Florida

We set out on a journey to adopt a child because it was something that God had placed on our hearts even before we met and married. After we met, we had discussed early on that we wanted to adopt a child, it was a desire of both of us. Because we married at a later age in life, we never knew if we would have any biological children. We had hope that there might be a possibility and left that in the Lord’s hands, however, regardless, we knew we would adopt some day. We knew we had so much love in our hearts and wanted to give that unconditional love to a child. We were both raised in families where our parents showed us what unconditional love looks like and we wanted to share that same love with a child. We wanted to be able to share our family values and traditions so they may experience the same affection and excitement that we had as children. We have been married for 14+ years and because of life’s circumstances and financial limitations throughout the years, we never had the opportunity to start our journey to adopt due to the high adoption expenses. In 2018, the year following the loss of both of Rose’s parents, we began discussing adoption again and decided that it was time to move forward with our dream of adopting, and so our journey began.

We have always felt the call to adopt. We wanted the opportunity to surround a child with lots of hugs and laughter. We have a great love for family and are so excited to become first time parents. We have both enjoyed family values and traditions that we would love to pass along to our child. We love children and would like nothing more than to adopt our child and be able to finally share our life with him/her.

After starting our adoption journey almost 2 years ago, we have finally been matched with a birth mom and are now just waiting for her to deliver. Although we have money set aside for the adoption, it will not cover all of the adoption expenses, as well as all the expenses we will incur after the adoption is completed. We will have large expenses with the need to purchase baby furniture and everything else needed to care for the baby, such as car seat, stroller, bottles, carrier, etc. We do not want to borrow any money as we do not want to incur any debt. We want to complete this adoption debt free and begin our life with our new Blessing. We are inviting our friends and family to be a part of our journey and of the celebration of our Blessing and to please consider helping us make our dream come true.  We have been awarded a $3500 matching grant from First Baptist Orlando Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans.  When you use our special fundraising link, 100% of your donation will be matched and go towards our adoption fundraising goal.

We are so thrilled to finally make our dream a reality, a dream that we have had together for 15 years. We have been on this journey of adopting our child for almost 2 years now. We are excited that we have been matched with the perfect baby that God has created just for us to raise as His child. We look forward to loving this child and cannot wait until he/she joins our family.

Blessed and Excited,

Rose and Joseph
