We are Darryl and Callie Orso.
When we met, and we knew that God had something big in store for us. We had the same goals in life, and the best part is, we both loved Jesus with all we had…. We got married and wanted to start our family, but just one problem. I have PCOS and Endometriosis struggled with infertility for 16 years. We had a plan, to just trust God. So after years of trying, and miscarriages, we started the expensive road to IVF. Everything seemed to be working great. TONS of medication, shots, mood swings, tears lots of tears. We had 17 follicles. They looked great. The shots were taking over our life at this point. One thing to add is Darryl and I are youth leaders in our church. It was all down to timing. We would have to take shots at church. Leave the youth for about five minutes for a shot. They understood and encouraged the entire way.
Time for the egg retrieval, they were only able to get 3 embryos. We were heart broken. Well all three were sent to testing. Only one came back as a viable pregnancy. But we were standing on Gods promise.
Psalms 37:4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
This has become our verse. So we started more shots, to do the egg transfer. Thursday Nov. 7th we transferred our little boy embryo. We stayed positive. Prayed like crazy. Our students had prayed over us for weeks leading up to this. We knew that God was going to show up. This was going to be good.
December 3, I miscarried our little boy. Heart broken doesn’t even touch the pain we shared. We went to the doctor, she had no answers. everything looked great, still no answers. So we said we will try again. We started the process all over again. Still with heavy hearts, we knew that God will give us the desires of our hearts.
We went in with 15 follicles, that were perfect, We were so exited. Well my doctor was running late, I ovulated as the procedure started. We lost every egg. Again we were broken, but we needed to stay strong and positive. He still has a plan. After that we had to take a step back. This was controlling us, the schedule with meds and shots. We at that point said we are done with the IVF road.
We knew that God hears our prayers, and we know that he will show up and show out. We continued to worship, and pray.
Then a friend of mine asked us about adoption. We prayed, and prayed we have always wanted to adopt, but the cost was always a set back… God opened doors, it has been amazing. We started this crazy, expensive, long process in February. We are so exited to see what God has in store. We are exited to grow our family through adoption.
We know that God will give us the desires of our hearts.
