This past July I had the amazing opportunity to go to Uganda and work with Global Hands of Hope (GHOH) a partner ministry of Lifesong for Orphans for just over a week. I was blessed so much by the people there and the work they are doing there in the small village of Bukeka. I now have the opportunity to go back and do more work with GHOH on a little larger scale and live in the community for two months starting March 18th!
Throughout my previous trip I had many conversations with the founder of GHOH, Pastor Ronnie, about coming back to Uganda and living in the community, filling the new media office, and teaching his team new, beneficial skills. After a lot of prayer throughout my time there and after returning home I realized this is where I needed to be and how I needed to focus my time.
While there I will be working to train their team at Suubi Christian School and GHOH on how to shoot video and photography along with how to use that for social media purposes. I will be working with administrators, teaching them specifically how to use the equipment they have and how they can take the best photo and video with that equipment. Along with photo and video, I will be training on social media platforms so that they can use the media they have created to help grow GHOH and tell more people about the work they are doing there in Uganda.
These skills I will be teaching them are also easily teachable skills that they will be able to teach other people in the village and other teachers throughout the school, so they will be able to use these skills in their own lives. GHOH is working to bring villages out of poverty by training, teaching and giving people applicable skills. I am going to be helping with this so that they can continue to teach more people how to use these skills.
Any support you can provide, whether it be financially or just by keeping me in your thoughts and prayers as I prepare and head back over, I will forever be grateful for! This support will help pay for my daily cost of living over the two months I am there along with the cost of airfare.
