Friends and Family,
As you have been giving and we have been praying, God has been at work. On December 3rd, our attorney called us and told us she believed she had a birth mom who would match us very well. We had only begun a relationship with this lawyer 4 days before and had done nothing to prepare. She quickly instructed us to write to this birth mom a letter about ourselves and explain why we want to adopt.
In that moment, our whole world stopped. Jared began to write as I frantically searched for pictures of us. Never in my life has something so important come with so much weight. No words seemed to matter enough to portray the people we are and the parents we want to look like. Our lawyer told us it was urgent to put this together right away and send it off. The morning raced by as we selected a few of our favorite photos and wrote this mom a letter we hoped could change our lives.
We sent it off.
Then we waited.
We waited until Wednesday when we were told the birth mom was thinking about us and one other family. She needed the weekend.
So we waited again.
Monday came, and no news came.
But Wednesday evening brought the news. We have been chosen! We will be bringing home a baby in May 2019! In one phone call, our world stopped, and in one more, everything changed. We are so honored to be chosen by this birth mom and to be telling you that we are going to be parents in May.
There is much to say, and there are still so many unanswerable things. We have much to be anxious about, but “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” Psalm 18:2. We have nothing to fear!
We covet your continued prayers and we ask that you share this post if you can. We are so grateful for the financial support we have received thus far, and we have a long way to go! Please pray for us and pray for this birth momma, as we have many more needs between now and May. We cannot wait to bring this baby home and we cannot wait to be parents!
