McMillians Adopt from South Korea!

Jeremy & Amy McMillian
Jeremy & Amy McMillian Ooltewah, Tennessee

Hello family & friends!

For the past 8+ months, we have been diligently pursuing international adoption from South Korea.  Jeremy & I dreamt of adopting long before this journey began.  During our time dating, we talked about our hopes and dreams for adoption, discussed possible baby names, talked about how an adopted child would fit into our family plans, and our ‘why’ for wanting to adopt.

We believe that adoption is a real expression of God’s radical love for us. While this road has been long, often hard, and always full of paperwork, we’ve seen His faithfulness every step of the way. Ultimately, adoption is on our hearts, and the longing to adopt just keeps strengthening.

We believe God’s timing is perfect. After our (biological) son Kallan was born, we found out that Amy has an autoimmune condition. While (as far as we know!) that isn’t prohibiting us from having more biological babies, God is using that time to take the winding road of adoption and allow Amy’s body to heal.

Currently, all approvals in the adoption process are complete. We are in the fundraising process and are waiting to be matched with a child.

We’ve been graciously given a $3,500 matching grant for our family. For example, if you give $10, they will match $10, and all $20 will go directly towards our adoption. The same goes for any amount until the full $3,500 is matched – meaning that up to $7,000 could be raised for these adoption expenses.

Adoption from South Korea can cost $54,000+. We wish we could share with you every crazy detail of all of the goodness that’s come through 21 families to date– whether showing up with truckloads of items for us to sell in yard sales or Craigslist, to giving financially, to just simple prayers and encouragement, often sharing the ways they too have been touched by adoption. In Mid-July, we are down to $29,600 (45% of goal reached!). Would you consider joining us in closing the gap to bring home a baby from South Korea?

You can find more information about our story and periodic updates on our blog, www.thisabidinglife.com. If you have more questions or are interested in learning more about our story or adoption in general, please email us at this.abiding.life@gmail.com.

We hope you will consider partnering with us. We’re excited to be able to spend little moments with this child sharing stories of all of the people who had a part in bringing them home.
