McDivitt Adoption

Nathan and I always knew adoption would be part of our story but we weren't sure when. The Lord started stirring our hearts toward it when we served in South Africa our first two years of marriage. Once we moved back to the states it is something that we openly talked about but were waiting on the Lord as to when we should start the process. We had our son, Rhett, two years ago and he has been the sweetest blessing to us. It has been a joy to step into that role as parents and we love it. Towards the end of 2016, the Lord made it evident to both of us that we needed to start researching agencies and take that step of faith and start the adoption process. Did it make sense to start the process then with everything we had going on? No it didn't. BUT we knew that stepping out in faith and trusting the Lord wasn't about it making perfect sense, it was about answering a call on our lives that He had been sowing for a long time. So we did just that. We stepped out in faith, started researching agencies, filling out all the paperwork, and the Lord brought us to a place where we felt peace moving forward. We have been on the waiting list with our agency since April of 2017. The Lord has taught us so much through this process. We see His vast love for ALL people in a different way. He continues to draw our hearts to Him on the mountain tops and in the valleys of this process. We know that "HE who started a good work in you will see it through to completion!" Philippians 1:6. Thank you so much for supporting us on this journey. We can't wait to meet our sweet birth mom and thank her for choosing life for her child. We can't wait to hold our sweet baby and tell them everyday that they are not only chosen by us but by our Heavenly Father!
