Matt and Kaylin’s adoption story

Kaylin MacDaniels DUBACH, Louisiana

About 3 years ago, the Lord began to radically alter our desires and began to replace them with His desires. After a mission trip to Honduras and encountering some challenges in life, I (Kaylin) was faced with giving up the life I once dreamed of and exchanging it with totally giving my life to God. After all, His plans were for my best anyway.

The Lord saw fit to redeem my marriage and husband (Matt), and Matt too was radically transformed after his own incredible encounter with Christ. We both were/are on fire for the Lord, so we decided to let God lead our lives for once. That began a rollercoaster of life-altering events including a move, a couple of job changes, and reprioritizing our life; all while praying through a decision to answer a calling that would also bring about much change as well- adoption.

After praying over this for 2 years, in January of 2021, we finally decided to jump off the boat in faith and decided to pursue an infant domestic adoption. While this ride as been full of ups and downs; it has also been the most exciting ride ever. We have watched the Lord affirm this by moving mountains and continually providing for and meeting all of our needs on a daily basis. It’s really incredible to watch the Lord multiply what you have in your life when you finally decide to give it all to Him. We are rich in His mercies, grace, and love.

God is preparing our home and hearts for the little gift God has for our family. We have come to a place of patiently waiting but HOPEfully expecting the Lord to show up to do what only He can do. If you feel lead and want to join us in the process by praying, encouragement, or giving this is a good place to start. First, help us by praying for our birth mother/father, and our little one as we wait on God’s timing. Pray for our son Wyatt as he already is triumphing over his own challenges daily; that he will transition to a big brother role as smoothly as possible. Pray for our family and village as they learn to open their hearts wider than ever thought possible. Lastly, pray for Matt and I as we follow God’s will for our lives that wherever He takes us we will obediently go.

We can’t thank our village enough and if you want to give financially you can. Glory to God, we have been awarded a $4000 matching grant from Colonial Heights Baptist Church Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. God is in this so we are trusting Him to meet all of our needs. He has prepared this path for us in advance long ago. So only do what you feel lead to do, and God will do the rest.

Thanks and with love,

Matt and Kaylin MacDaniels
