Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, we started the adoption process for our second little person more than a year ago. It has been a long but sweet year, waiting and growing in love with the child God is bringing to us even before we knew a face or story. Well, friends, we have a match!! Our son is coming home in January 2022, Lord willing! He is in Indiana and we wait in faith, earnestly praying and trusting that God will give his expectant momma great wisdom as she makes one of the hardest decisions of her life.
We are convinced that adoption is at the heart of God's amazing rescue plan through Jesus our Savior. Before any of us were even born, God chose to love us and he eagerly awaits the day when he will finally bring us home as beloved adopted children. This is beyond comprehension and it's what has directed our own adoption journey. What a privilege and joy to give of ourselves to our children, biological or adopted, as we have been so extravagantly loved!
In addition to this great news, we have also been approved for two generous matching grants, totaling $8,000 dollars, with $5,000 from the Tim Tebow Foundation and $3,000 from the Lifesong for Orphans Foundation!
Adoption is really expensive. Our estimated cost to bring our son home will be more than $40,000. We have saved or budgeted the bulk of that cost. We are now writing to ask you to consider a tax-deductible gift which will be matched dollar-for-dollar from these grants. Your gift by January 31st will definitely help with expenses that need to be covered when we bring Malachi’s little brother home! If you’re not able to give by then, gifts received for the next several months will still be matched by these grants.
Above all, we ask for your prayers as we move forward in welcoming this child into our family.
We know that our match is inherently uncertain. Know that if this expectant momma does decide that she is able to parent her son, any funds you give will be carried forward to help support our eventual adoption of our baby boy or girl. We trust and pray that God will bring our child home in 2022 even if this little man in Indiana is not meant to become the next little Lyman.
Daniel, Rachel, and Malachi
P.S. We appreciate your love and support for our family. Please know that your tax-deductible gift by January 31st will be matched dollar-for-dollar and will make a huge difference for us! Both of our grants are managed by Lifesong for Orphans.
