Little Shi Shi Almond

Barb Almond Montgomery, Texas

My husband and I always talked about adopting a daughter from China for as long as I can remember.  Many people have asked along our journey, “Why China?” It was a strong calling on our hearts from the beginning.  Now, I can tell everyone it is because our daughter, Isabella Hope Shi Shi, is waiting for us there.  God put this little girl into our hearts many years ago and it has been AMAZING to watch His plan unfold and bring us to this point of actually falling head over heels in love with her!  We are in the last stretch of paperwork and we will soon be on a plane to go and get her.  God has provided miraculously along the way for us to meet the financial requirements of this adoption.  We are in the last part of meeting traveling expenses, which is over a third of what our costs have been to this point.  We look to our faithful Heavenly Father to provide all our needs.  We cannot thank you enough for being a part of the adoption process to bring our daughter home! I have always believed that it does take a village to raise a child.  Having friends and family who will so graciously come alongside us to help love on our children mean everything to Joel and I.  The prayers and emotional support are what we covet most for this adoption.  We are overwhelmed with the encouragement we have recieved and we look forward to raising Isabella with such a love-filled village!

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27
