Kresic Adoption – India

Christopher Kresic
Christopher Kresic Strasburg, Pennsylvania

When Chris & Ashley married in 2013 we determined to build our family through biological and adoptive children. Ashley had spent time internationally on mission trips and was aware of the orphan crisis worldwide. Chris was moved by the spiritual reality of our adoption into God’s family. Together, we knew our family would reflect these experiences. In 2016, in the middle of our first adoption, God gave us a Lily (6) as our first child. Soon after, we took her to Ethiopia to adopt Gracie (5) in 2018. Hudson was born in 2019, in the middle of pursuing concurrent adoptions in Latin America and India. We knew Latin America would take a LONG time, and hoped to complete India quickly.

We were matched with an adorable blind three year old girl named Ashtha (JoJo) in Sept of 2021. In India, blindness is one of the greatest barriers to a child being chosen for adoption. There are SO MANY children diagnosed with blindness, waiting for their forever-homes. The Lord led us to JoJo. The Lord moved our hearts that these children are precious to Him and he will equip us to help our sweet daughter thrive. Still, due to some unforeseen delays, our travel was pushed back significantly. JoJo is now four and a half years old, and growing up quickly across the globe. We are told she is the eldest in her orphanage, and takes joy in caring for the younger children there. She knows she has a family, and we cannot wait to finally welcome her home.

While we have been blessed significantly in ways we could not have expected, our adoption costs will exceed what we had originally anticipated. We are expecting to travel January – February of 2023 to complete our adoption and our church family at Calvary has partnered with Lifesong for Orphans and the Tim Tebow Foundation to provide us with this matching grant to cover the final expenses. Many of you have asked if you can partner with us, and we have asked you to wait until the final stretch. We’re there now – she’s coming home.
