Hello Friends!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

We are raising funds for a domestic newborn adoption.

If you would have asked us 9 years ago if adoption was in our plans, we probably would have told you "no". I (Carmen) always felt like I would adopt, but when we got married Justin did not feel the same way.

God knew that neither of our hearts fully understood adoption and its redemptive story. It took us a while to catch on!

Fast foward-9 years into our marriage, we have 3 biological kids. Our kids are a joy and bring so much laughter. In the beginning of 2020 the Lord spoke clearly to Justin and me through a ministry at our church. We weren’t sure exactly what God was calling us to…..but we said, “Lord, Our YES is on the table”. We spent a whole year in prayer and received wise counsel from friends and family. We were able to meet a lot of new friends along the way too!

During this time we were full of faith some days and other days we were scared. We knew we didn’t have the funds to adopt, but when the Lord calls you to something-it’s a great time to choose obedience. I recently read a quote by Francis Chan that we could relate to.

“We need to learn to err on the side of action, because we tend to default to negligence. So many won’t do anything unless they hear a voice from heaven telling them precisely what to do. Why not default to action until you hear a voice from heaven telling you to wait? For example: Why not assume you should adopt kids unless you hear a voice telling you not to? Wouldn’t that seem more biblical since God has told us that true religion is to care for the widows and orphans (James 1:27)”

This is the type of heart change that carried us from “why?” to “why not?”. The Lord has confirmed an innumberable amount of times how He wants our family to obey Him. Will you help us?

Lifesong has generously offered us a $5000 matching grant through Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. We would love for you to partner with us on this journey. Here are two ways you can help:

Pray: Pray that God would protect the family of this child that He will chose for our family. Pray that the child’s mother will have support, love and peace. Pray that we will have peace, wisdom and unshakable faith during the ups and downs of this process. Pray that we will be Christ-like in every aspect of this adoption.

Support: Make a tax-deductible donation to our Lifesong fund. The cost of a domestic infant adoption ranges from $35,000-$55,000. The cost includes homestudy fees, agency fees, attorney fees, government fees, support for the expectant mother, medical expenses and travel. Funds will be accepted until this sweet baby is home!

Your online donation is tax-deductible and every dollar raised- minus the 2.2% credit card processing fee (3.5% for Amex)- goes directly to these expenses.
