David and I are so honored to have you along our Journey Towards Parenthood. The support and love poured out from the people in our lives has been heartwarming and uplifting. We thank you for clicking on our page to read more about our journey.
Most of our story about this journey has been shared on our blog: MichelleShave.BlogSpot.Com. This page is a chance for you to help us financially during this journey. A domestic adoption of a newborn baby can cost up to $45,000. If you are in a position to help financially, this is the place to do it!
When we got married three years ago, we planned on trying for a baby and we wanted to adopt a baby. After two miscarriages and three unsuccessful IUIs, we felt God guiding us in the direction of adoption. Since we started the initial research of the process in March, doors keep being opened and the daunting task of paperwork has been encouraged by connections along the way.
David and I love working with children in our jobs and especially love spending time with our 3 and 6 year old nieces. We are so excited at the idea of becoming parents and getting to raise a child in a loving and caring home. We know God wants us to be parents, and we are hoping this adoption process will lead us to a little bundle of joy.
We understand that being parents is a lifetime commitment and that this initial process on the front end of bringing home a baby is just the beginning. We will be counting on some of you for support throughout this journey, the journey after the baby is brought home. Yet, if you are able and willing to support us financially in this initial phase, we are extremely thankful to you. David and I manage our money well and are good stewards with what God gives us. It is just the expense of all of this that is a bit out of our scope of income, but we trust and know God will work out those details.
We are thankful for being awarded a $4000 matching grant from our church, First Baptist Church Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. That means when donations reach $4,000, it will double to $8,000 just like that!! And we will be about 20% towards our goal.
If you do feel called to donate, here is the information.
You can give directly to Lifesong online by credit card or mail in a check.
Online donations are processed by STRIPE with a 2.2% + $.30 per transaction fee. 100% of the donation received by Lifesong will go directly to our account. Click the DONATE NOW button above to donate online.
