Journey to be 3+

Sasha & Robert
Sasha & Robert Chugiak, Alaska

Hi, We’re Robbie, Sasha, & Solo.

We’re a tight knit family that loves spending quality time together. We’re mostly at home when we’re not traveling the world and adventuring in our own ‘back yard’, that is, all that Alaska has to offer. We also love Jesus, reading, playing games, bible study with friends, cooking together, trying new things, and movie nights. After serving in the Air Force for over a decade, Robbie now works as an aircraft mechanic and Sasha is a stay at home mom that is blessed to work from home as a life coach, while together we manage an Airbnb.

We were married in 2009, and after a decade sharing adventures together traveling the world and enjoying all that life has to offer, we brought Solo home in 2019 via infant adoption. We have a beautiful open adoption with his first parents, little did we know when we went into adoption that our family was going to grow by so much more than simply bringing a child home. We are excited to grow our family even more through this adoption journey.

Robbie grew up as an only child in Connecticut, and Sasha grew up with a brother and a sister that she saw occasionally in Michigan. We want our children to have siblings to grow up with and play with, and we know Solo is going to be the sweetest big brother. In fact, he already prays for his little sibling most nights before bed. We have a heart and home built for a larger family and are excited to grow our family via adoption again.

Our family motto is “Work Hard, Play Hard” & our family verse is Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” We do our best to live and function from these.

We’ve been in this second adoption journey for about 2 years, patiently waiting for an expectant mom to choose us to create a larger family with.

We've been extremely blessed to have been awarded a $7000 in matching grants from Fueling Hope Adoption Fund + Lifesong for Orphans. This means every dollar contributed through our account will be doubled!

We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to read about us, our adoption journey, and your consideration in making a contribution to match the generous donors that have pledged to double your dollars. We thank and praise God for this opportunity and couldn’t be more grateful.

STRIPE charges an online processing fee (2.2% +.30 USD per transaction)*. Your donations will be decreased by this amount. You may also send a check payable to “Lifesong for Orphans”. It’s a boy!

August 22, 2022

8/22/22

We received a phone call mid-morning and he arrived less than 20 minutes after our arrival to the hospital.

Little man is heathy, strong, and has fit so perfectly into our family.

Our toddler has adjusted very well to being a big brother and our community has been so supportive bringing us meals to make sure we stay fed and more!

We are blessed beyond measure!

With that, we’re continuing to pray for (and asking for prayers for) his first momma and family. We never forget that our arms being filled means hers are empty.

We’re matched!

Never did we expect to announce that one week from the day we were approved for a matching grant, and just a few days after our MyStory went live, that we would have received news of a MATCH!

We had our homestudy update visit planned for today and she was a little late because immediately prior to walking out the door we were selected by an expectant mom!

Baby boy is expected later this month!

We ask for your prayers over momma and baby.

We also ask for prayers for our hearts and home to be prepared for baby.

We thank you in advance for any contribution you would consider as we are suddenly facing crunch time on our fundraising journey.
