Adoption has been a part of our conversations and prayers from before we were married. We want to show the love of Christ by celebrating and loving a birth mom choosing life in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy or difficult circumstances.
After becoming pregnant and having our son, we continued discussing adoption, praying over what the timing and order might look like in relation to more biological children. To be honest, we thought we might adopt after having another biological child, but the Lord has been so loving and patient with us as He aligned our desires with His heart and changed our plans. During my pregnancy with Landon, I developed an autoimmune disease and experienced complications that aren’t yet managed well enough for my body to endure pregnancy again. We were hesitant to consider adoption yet due to the high cost. However, as we continued to pray over the timing of adoption, we felt the Lord leading us to begin the process now and trust His provision.
The Lord has already proven faithful as He provided us with the funds to make it this far through our home study. One of His provisions happened just TWO days after giving God our “yes” and filling out the pre-application! We’re eager to see how the Lord continues to move as we step into fundraising. We have been so blessed to receive a $6,000 matching grant from Zacchaeus’ Tree Adoption Ministry and Lifesong. This means that the first $6,000 we raise will be matched dollar for dollar! - Lifesong is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. Individual donations of $50 or more and yearly donations totaling $250 or more will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Receipts for donations under $50 will gladly be sent upon request.
