We are James and Mandy Hagstrom, and we’ve been married for just over four years. We love the Lord and have loved watching Him move a lot during our adoption journey so far! We do not have any children and we are looking to expand our family. We have been on this adoption journey for almost a year now.
We found ourselves on this adoption journey after struggling with infertility, a journey that took a deep emotional toll on both of us. For years, we longed for a child, and each setback felt like a piece of our hope slipping away. It was during a season where up to a dozen of our close friends and family members were getting pregnant and it was hard to not be able to join them in being pregnant while we were still trying to expand our family. Through the heartache, we began to believe that God had instilled a desire in us to be parents, even if our path to parenthood wasn’t what we originally envisioned. While infertility is what first led us to explore adoption, James has always had a heart for adopting, and seeing his passion grow over time has been inspiring for Mandy, who is now deeply excited and passionate about building our family this way.
We have several families that we’ve connected with who’ve adopted in the last three to six years and we currently meet with one couple from our church who has adopted twice and are now blessed with two beautiful daughters. This relationship has been such a blessing and we love to meet with them once a month.
We are matched with a birth mother in Florida and she is expecting a baby girl, so we are praying for our baby girl all of the time and we’re excited to meet her coming up here soon. We look forward to sharing photos and information about our baby girl in the months and/or years to come with the birth mother as she is comfortable. The birth mother is currently living in the West Palm Beach area of Florida.
We look forward to our baby girl joining our family in June or July. Our niece was also born in the month of June and so we have been blessed to receive several of her hand-me-downs in the right season for our little bundle of joy. We are so excited to introduce our little lady to so many people in our life. We have an incredible church family who has supported us in so many ways it’s hard to quantify and we know she will be loved by so many!
A family tradition we are most excited to share with our little girl is going up north camping with family on Memorial Day Weekend. For us, these weekends are filled with love, connection, and the simple joy of being together. But this year, it will mean so much more. The thought of having our daughter with us—of finally being parents and sharing in these special moments—is a dream come true. We know she will fit right in with the group of friends and family who have been eagerly awaiting her arrival. Each moment we spend together will be a reminder of the long journey we’ve walked to bring her into our lives, and we can’t wait to create memories with her that will last a lifetime.
We’ve paid a lot towards the adoption so far and we are estimating being in need of $24,966.64.
We have seen how God has provided in so many ways already and we’re eager to see Him continue to move for us as we believe He has called us to this purpose. We thank you for looking over and considering how God might be calling you to help us along this journey.
