Dear Friends and Family,
I am excited to share with you a little that has been going on in my life and an opportunity that God has given me this summer! I am finishing up my sophomore year at Heartland and will be moving on to ISU in the fall. I am studying International Business with a minor in Spanish. As I am working towards that degree, I have also been working as a manager at Chick-fil-A. And involved in my young group and serving my community.
This summer I will be going to San Lucas, Guatemala for eight weeks (May 28-July 30) to serve with Village of Hope ~ a Lifesong for Orphans partner. Village of Hope’s (VOH) purpose is to provide family home environments for orphans and vulnerable children, as well as modeling a Christian family, and what it means to be followers of Jesus. Village of Hope works intentionally to mentor young adults by helping them locate jobs, keep jobs and provide for themselves and families.
I know God is calling me to serve, I am relying on Him for strength and wisdom as I plan and raise financial support. As I have now expressed my heart to you and desire to serve in Guatemala this summer, I know that I am not able to do it on my own. And as you feel called, I would be blessed if you would consider supporting me prayerfully and/or financially. I am seeking to raise $13,500. A portion of that will support my flights, food, and the majority will help support the Gospel centered ministry of VOH. One of the projects it will help buy new computers for vulernable girls to learn job skills. It takes significant resources to provide quality care to the children and adolescent mothers in need. Each child in their homes receives a quality Christian education, health care, nutrition, psychology and more.
I would treasure your prayers during this time of growing, mentoring and ultimately serving. Prayers for the house parents and those you play a crucial role in the lives and care of the children at Village of Hope, and wisdom to the missionary leaders. Prayers for me to be intentional with every moment that I spend there to ultimately influence people and serve and be a blessing to the people I meet in Guatemala!
Thank you for your prayers and for considering supporting me financially,
Haley Lehman
