Dear Family, Friends & Church,
Hola from the Gonzales family. We have been married for 16 years and are the proud parents of two boys and two girls – Karson & Catrina (from a previous marriage) who are adults with children of their own. And Elias (age 6) & Lexie (born 9/16/2016) who joined our family through God’s plan of adoption from the United States.
Many of you know a little bit of our adoption story. In January 2009, we experienced one of the best days of our lives by bringing our son Anthony James home from the hospital only to later experience one of the worst days of our lives by giving him back to his birth parents eight weeks later. Our lives and his are in the Lord’s hands and that is where we place our trust and our hope. We continued to wait upon the Lord for the child He would entrust to us. We were introduced to our birth mother from Minnesota. It was confirmed, we were having a baby boy in September 2010. Praise the Lord! Elias was born September 14 and he brings extraordinary joy to our family.
Our story continues…we are excited to announce the birth of our daughter Lexie Paige Gonzales, our second adoption to our family (more about our story is below). And we are thrilled that our church family at Woodmen Valley Chapel has partnered with Lifesong for Orphans by awarding us with a $2500 Matching Grant to help pay our adoption expenses. All gifts are tax deductible, and Lifesong will MATCH the first $2500 we raise. A $25 gift becomes $50…a $50 becomes $100, etc.
February 2016 we learned that Eli’s birth mother, MeganAnn was 8 weeks pregnant. She asked us to adopt again and we said, “YES!” This is a different birth father. Baby G was due September 17. We were all going to be surprised with Baby’s gender. This was MeganAnn’s idea and we gladly agreed to it with her.
On September 14 Andy, Eli and I drove to Minnesota for the birth of Baby G. MeganAnn’s due date was September 17. She was induced on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Owatonna Hospital in Owatonna, MN. Her delivery went well and she delivered a gorgeous healthy baby girl at 2:56pm that afternoon. Lexie Paige Gonzales was 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 19 inches. Andy and I were able to be in the delivery room with her as planned. It was unforgettable. We pray for the peace and grace of the Lord to always be in her heart.
We stayed in MN until our adoption agencies gave us the green light to travel back to CO. The four of us welcomed our baby daughter home on October 1. Thank you to all our family and friends for your love and support. We are amazed at God’s goodness and plan for adoption in our lives. We love having an open adoption and are so grateful for our birth mom who is a beautiful young lady.
We can’t wait for you all to meet Lexie, she is a gift from the LORD.
How You Can Help
Our total cost for our adoption is approximately $13,000. We are trusting God throughout our adoption process including our finances. Would you pray and believe with us that God will provide our need to finalize our adoption and would you consider giving toward Lexie’s adoption? We would love to have you be part of our adoption story in one or two ways:
Prayer – Please pray God will:
1. Give strength and comfort to our birth family.
2. Give us wisdom and insight as we raise our children to love and honor the Lord. Ultimately we want to raise our children to follow Jesus and love him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength (Matthew 22:37).
3. Provide the financial support we need.
Financial support – If you would like to be a part of Lexie’s adoption, you can send your tax deductible gift between now and December 31st to the address below. Our goal date is December 31st to have our grant matched, but funds will be accepted towards our adoption until it is finalized on March 31, 2017.
Lifesong for Orphans is a non-profit Christian Ministry and will be administering the funds on our daughter’s behalf. Lifesong has been blessed with a partner that underwrites all U.S. administrative and fund-raising costs (TMG Foundation and other partners). That means 100% of your donation will go directly to our adoption.
