As we seek to adopt a second time our family has engaged in many fundraising opportunities and has applied for adoption grants to offset some of the costs associated with adoption. Lifesong provided us with a matching grant when we adopted in 2019 and has once again provided us with a generous matching grant in the amount of $4000. With this matching grant we are tasked with raising $4000 through donations. In doing so each dollar up to that $4000 will be matched, allowing us to raise a total of $8000. This is a huge blessing and one that will tremendously help us. We currently owe our adoption agency $8800, so this $8000 will allow us to pay off this amount much easier! There will be more fees and travel costs as we go so if we raise beyond the $8000 we can use those funds for future costs. Fees associated with international adoption typically fall between $35,000-$45,000 so any and all donations are much appreciated!
Our Dossier (Adoption application and country specific documents) is currently in Bulgaria being translated and hopefully approved. We have been told this takes about 2 months. We are anticipating hearing back in early 2023 about approval and hopefully shortly thereafter a match! We are seeking to adopt another little girl who has Down syndrome and is anywhere from 0-5 years of age. We are open to many other medical conditions as well. After being matched we will have 2 trips, one fairly quickly, to meet and visit with the child we are matched with and a second trip after processing of more documents and court, to bring the newest addition to our family home.
Every donation received will help make this process a reality. We know, especially after brining Ellie home, that adoption does indeed take a village and we know that God has placed each person in our lives to navigate this journey with us and we are so grateful for this!
If you feel led to give a donation you can do so by donating directly on this page. Or, if you prefer you can mail a check to Lifesong directly. God has blessed us greatly in our first adoption and we know He will do so again.
