Adoption has always been a conversation and a calling for our family, and even a topic of discussion when Caleb and Sarah were dating all the way back in 2011. We have prayerfully waited and hoped the day would come when the Lord would tell us the time is right.
In 2018 we believed God was moving our hearts to open our home and adopt domestically. The Lord placed two sweet baby girls in our lives that same year. Our plan and desire was to adopt, but the Lord had other plans. God had us stand in the gap for them before reuniting the girls with their birth family. We were heartbroken and confused at the time, but we knew that God was faithful and kind to give us four months with the babies. We continue to pray for the girls to this day, and we trust the Lord with their lives.
After much healing and restoring, our second child was born in 2021. The Lord then brought adoption back to our hearts, and we both knew it was time to pursue adoption again. This time, God has directed us to adopt from Haiti and partner with Lifeline Children Services for International Adoption!
In 2014, we (Caleb and Sarah) had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Haiti and partner with an orphanage in Jacmel. It was then that the Lord captured our hearts for this country, culture, and the people. Little did we know that 8 years later, God would bring this country back into our lives in a different way, as we walk in obedience and say yes to the story He is writing on the hearts of our family through adoption!
The Gospel is a beautiful representation of adoption, in that for those who believe have been adopted into the family of God. With this understanding, we are honored that the Lord has called us to “care for orphans” (James 1:27) in the capacity of welcoming another child into our family!
We are humbly asking you to partner with us in prayer and through financial support. We know the Lord will provide as He has already shown in many ways. One way is that we have been approved for TWO matching grants of $4,500 – one from Lifesong and the other from We Care for Orphans. This means that if we raise $9,000, we will receive $9,000 from these amazing organizations!
Will you pray with us in these ways:
1. For our “Haitian brother” (or siblings) – protection, provision, and care
2. For our family as we prepare our hearts and home
3. For financial provision
We are excited to welcome you into this story that God is writing to grow our family and further His kingdom!
